So in summary, I believe the only way for you to reset your progress &/or delete your saves yourself is to install the game under a new Steam ID. Signing up on Steam is free, and the game is free, so aside from the annoyance of having a 2nd Steam account for a single game, that’s one option. Otherwise, you can try contacting the dev, LastDayOfWork.com, and if you provide them your unique game ID, then they should be able to delete your saves on their servers, but I haven’t seen them active recently on the Steam forums, and even the forums on their own website seem to be nearly dead, so good luck with that approach. Alternative, the non-free version at bigfishgames.com is only $9.99 (and new customers can get it for 70% at the time I’m writing this, so only $3).
